Atomoxetine | Sanofi

ATOMINEX® is a prescription medicinal product based on atomoxetine, indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children aged 6 years and older, adolescents, and adults. The medicine is used as part of a comprehensive treatment program and is not classified as a stimulant.

🔹 Main Action

ATOMINEX® selectively affects noradrenaline metabolism in the central nervous system, helping to:

• improve attention and concentration;

• reduce impulsivity;

• decrease symptoms of hyperactivity;

• stabilize behavior and academic or occupational performance.

The therapeutic effect develops gradually and may become noticeable after several weeks of regular use.

🔹 Indications for Use

• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  in children (from 6 years of age), adolescents, and adults — as prescribed by a physician.

🔹 Composition

Active ingredient:

• atomoxetine — 60 mg (as atomoxetine hydrochloride)

Excipients:
corn starch, magnesium stearate, gelatin, capsule colorants.

• hard gelatin capsules

• pack size: 28 capsules

🔹 Method of Administration

• for oral use; capsules should be swallowed whole with water;

• may be taken with or without food;

• dosage and treatment regimen are determined individually by the physician;

• capsules must not be opened or chewed.

🔹 Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to atomoxetine or any component of the product;

• concomitant use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs);

• narrow-angle glaucoma;

• severe cardiovascular disorders;

• pheochromocytoma.

🔹 Special Warnings and Precautions

• the medicine may affect blood pressure and heart rate;

• in children and adolescents, emotional and behavioral monitoring is required at the start of treatment;

• drowsiness or dizziness may occur — caution is advised when driving vehicles or operating machinery.

• store at temperatures below 25°C;
