Product Description
Etaxedn 80 is a cytotoxic antineoplastic medicinal product containing docetaxel, a semisynthetic taxane widely used in oncology for the treatment of various malignant tumors. It may be administered as monotherapy or as part of combination chemotherapy regimens depending on the clinical indication and therapeutic protocol.
Docetaxel acts by disrupting the microtubular network essential for mitotic and interphase cellular functions. By stabilizing microtubules and preventing their depolymerization, the drug inhibits normal cell division, leading to cell cycle arrest and programmed death of rapidly proliferating cancer cells.
Mechanism of Action
Docetaxel:
• binds to β-tubulin;
• stabilizes microtubules;
• prevents depolymerization;
• blocks mitosis;
• induces apoptosis in tumor cells.
