Fingomod® is a prescription medicinal product containing the active substance fingolimod, belonging to the class of selective immunosuppressants. It is used for the treatment of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) and is designed to reduce abnormal immune activity that damages the myelin sheath of nerve fibers in the central nervous system.

🔹 Mechanism of Action

Fingolimod binds to sphingosine-1-phosphate receptors on lymphocytes and:

• traps lymphocytes in lymph nodes

• prevents their migration into the central nervous system

• reduces inflammatory processes

• slows demyelination and nerve damage

This helps decrease relapse frequency and slows disability progression in patients with multiple sclerosis.

• relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis

• active forms of MS when first-line therapy is insufficient
